The 2022 Off-Broadway production of Assassins was directed by CSC Artistic Director John Doyle and featured music direction and orchestrations by Greg Jarrett and sound design by Matt Stine and Sam Kusnetz. Assassins has a score by Stephen Sondheim and a book by John Weidman, from an idea by Charles Gilbert, Jr. This album is the third English-language recording of the musical, following releases for the original 1990 Off-Broadway and 2004 Broadway productions.

The album is produced by two-time Grammy nominee Matt Stine, co-produced by Van Dean and is recorded and mixed by Isaiah Abolin.
